About This Product
The Iron Rocket – Portable Rocket Stove with Cooktop & Griddle Built by D and S Iron Works
This isn’t just another outdoor stove. It’s a serious, efficient cooking system designed and hand-built for people who value independence, performance, and real capability.
At the heart of the unit is a true rocket stove firebox. It burns small wood, sticks, leaves, cardboard, and almost anything else that will light. The design pulls air through the burn chamber so efficiently that you get intense heat from very little fuel—exactly what you want for camping, off-grid living, or preparedness scenarios where resources matter.
Above the firebox sits a heavy steel cooktop measuring 16 inches wide by 32 inches long overall. A removable plate sits directly over the heat riser, giving you a focused, high-heat zone perfect for a flat-bottom pan, pot, or kettle. Boil water, sear, simmer, or cook whatever you need with ease control. The heat then continues through the cooktop surface before exiting the tall chimney, so nothing is wasted.
On the rear of the cooktop is a large steel griddle—16 inches wide by 18 inches long—ideal for burgers, steaks, potatoes, eggs, or a full outdoor meal. The surface is sized for real cooking, not just warming a couple of items. Whether you’re feeding a campsite or putting on a backyard cookout that becomes the center of conversation, this stove delivers.
The Iron Rocket is built to travel. The cooktop lifts completely off the base stove so the two pieces can be transported separately, making it far more portable than a single bulky unit.
Who it’s built for: Outdoor enthusiasts who want serious cooking capability without hauling propane or relying on campground power Preparedness-minded people who need a reliable, fuel-flexible system that runs on whatever is available Anyone who wants a unique, high-performance backyard cooking station that works as hard as it looks
Every unit is fabricated by hand at D and S Iron Works. Heavy steel construction, clean welds, and a design built for real use—not just for show. These stoves are made to last season after season in the field or in the yard.
Efficient. Portable. Versatile. Conversation-starting. Ready when you need it.
